Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
Full and biweekly members are given many
opportunities to pick their own herbs, flowers
and additional vegetables at no extra cost. Many
of our members have told us that u-pick is the
most valuable and enjoyable part of the Wickham
On your pick-up day, you are welcome to pick
herbs from our CSA member herb garden, which is
located near the barn where you’ll select your
vegetables. Perennial herbs, such as thyme and
chives, are available throughout the season.
Annual herbs, such as basil and parsley, are
ready later in the summer.
Annual flowers – zinnias, sunflowers, cosmos
and others – come on in late summer. When they
start blooming, you may pick a small bouquet. As

In addition, you will have the opportunity to
pick bonus amounts of some vegetables. Snap
peas, green beans, cherry tomatoes, hot peppers
and kale are among the vegetables we grow for
u-pick. In addition, when we have exceptional
quantities of a crop, we will also offer u-pick
bonuses for those vegetables. These vary from
year to year, depending on growing conditions.
In 2012, which was dry and hot, members were
able to freeze lots of broccoli. In 2013 and
2014, we had bountiful crops of tomatoes, and
members canned and froze sauce and salsa.
Full and biweekly members may pick flowers
and vegetables on their pick-up days from 4 to 7
p.m. as well as
most Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you have
children, they are welcome to participate in
u-pick; it is a great learning experience for
The u-pick area, which is located a short
drive from our farm, may be closed early and
late in the season if there are not sufficient
quantities for picking. It is closed when
thunder and lightning is present, and when the
grounds are extremely muddy.
U-pick bonuses are not included with the
Grab-and-Go share, but a u-pick membership may
be added on.
